In May 2010 Hassan Allam Construction was awarded the contract to build Egypt’s first supercritical thermal power plant in Ain el Sokhna on behalf Egypt’s East Delta Electricity Production Company (EDEPC).
Hassan Allam Construction will build the civil package of the Ain el Sokhna Power Plant (2 X 650 MW Gas /Oil Fired Units) over a 46 month period.
This plant is the first in Egypt to use Supercritical Boiler Technology to generate power, making it one of the most efficient plants once operational. It is one of the largest power plants to have been awarded to Hassan Allam Construction.
The scope of work consists of a Steam Turbine Generator Building enclosed with Steel Structure Skeleton Building, two Stack Chimneys and Stack Foundations, Main Transformers, Auxiliary Transformers and Station Service Transformers.
